Global Missions

Congo

Yajaira Gomez’s initial experience in Eastern Congo ignited a passion to serve the communities deeply affected by war and its aftermath. Since 2006, she has returned on short-term mission trips to various African nations, but Lifegiving Ministries’ core focus remains in the towns and villages of Eastern Congo. Here, the ongoing conflict has resulted in widespread destruction, displacing families and leaving many orphaned.

Lifegiving Ministries addresses these challenges through several initiatives:

  • French/English ministry: We equip STM teams to effectively spread the Gospel message in both French and English
  • The Orphaned Children’s Educational Program: We provide 110 children the opportunity to study from kindergarten to high school graduation, ensuring a brighter future for these vulnerable youth.
  • Comprehensive Care: Through partnerships with local leaders, Lifegiving Ministries has helped with these orphans’ nutrition programs and medical attention, providing holistic care for their well-being.
  • Community Support: We also help build churches and provide annual end-of-year gifts (Christmas/New Year’s) for widows, remote village churches, and pastoral salaries.
  • Leadership Development: Lifegiving Ministries provides discipleship resources for church leaders, empowering them to shepherd their congregations theologically.
  • Open-Air Outreaches: Outdoor events that support local church initiatives have allowed us to preach the Gospel Message while bringing Healing to the sick and Hope to the hopeless. Witnessing the power of faith bring comfort to those suffering has been a cornerstone of our ministry in Eastern Congo.
